Yipszy, also known as Quadri Abayomi, is one of Africa’s latest, rising versatile rappers who has made it a personal mission to move the African sound to a global audience. He is a man of many cultural influences; born in Lagos, bred in Port-Harcourt and hailing originally from Ekiti state. He is currently an alumni of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, and was a strong full-time rapper throughout his academic pursuit and had a reputable recognition as an Artist in his state. He hs been featured and has shared the stage with various popular acts like Buju, Ruger, Blaqbones, Mayorkun and many others.Yipszy; otherwise known as YBR has shown a lot of dexterity in his delivery and interest in multiple genres like Rap, Afrobeats, pop, Trap and others.
He has recently released a new rap single called ‘Thick Talk’. Thick talk is a deep compilation of sick flows, hard bars and consistent rhythm. Yipszy brings on the a rap-battle flow kind of style on this track as he satires his society; talking about different societal vices, from abusive pastors, to the plight of the youth, the rate of unemployment and even the actions of the government. In this 3 minutes + track, Yipszy touches on a myriad of issues.
