OLORINLAZZI:
The ‘Olorinlazzi’ EP, birthed from the artiste’s name Molazzi, with a fusion of the Yoruba word ‘Orin’, which translates to ‘song’ in English, is a range of afrobeat exploration, ranging from African folk music, done by the Boma Nime, to Afropop as well as Afrobeats. Just as the name suggests, the album is a blend of Molazzi and his music. The artiste holds a very distinctive taste and aims to give his listeners the best experience, bringing in familiarity and newness.
Beginning with a soft chant from the Boma Nime, in the track ‘HURRAY’, Molazzi takes us through a journey of Molazzi, his expression, and his music, starting with a hint at his background and flowing into the youthful music of his generation. The eclectic tracks, range from uplifting reassurances as seen in, ‘IN THE MORNING’, to soft gyrations in tracks like ‘NEED’ and ‘VACCINE’. In the few tracks of his EP, Molazzi manages to express himself and show who he is as an artiste.
