Young New artiste Larry banj releases single ‘Call on Me’
Oyebanji Lawrence Opeyemi known as Larrybanj, is a Nigerian rising singer and songwriter, born and raised in Oyo State till 9 years of age, then was brought to Lagos, where he began his career.
Larrybanj is steadily setting his pace in the music industry. After his debut single, ‘On God’, released in 2023, his follow-up single ‘Money on My Mind’, he’s back again with a new jam called ‘Call on Me’.
What a sweet thing it is to always have someone to run to, to be cared for and adored. Larrybanj no doubt knows this and shows this on ‘Call on Me’. On this sweet, dreamy, emotive track he expresses all his care and affection for his ‘Baby, Ashabi’.Taking it a step further than just love confessions, he implores her to Call on him as he would always be there.
The young artiste also shows his Indigenous side and his heritage as a major influence on his sound and style of music. In this mix of new and aged, Call on Me’s unique percussion reflects a modern translation of traditional Yoruba beat styles. More than just its percussion, the music itself gives a feeling of a simple Yoruba love song, the kind you sing to your loved one under the tree. A lullaby song that gets stuck in your head. The kind that reminds you that you’re loved by someone or makes you wish you had that.
As an artist, Larrybanj’s inspiration usually comes from his personal experiences and situations around him. His career is marked with traits of determination, persistence, integrity, and consistency.
