Nigerian singer LAEORX drops debut single; Island Life

Otaniyen Efeus, professionally known as Laeorx, is a Nigerian singer/ songwriter born and raised in Benin City, Nigeria. Growing up as a young boy in the city’s most deprived and dangerous arenas, Laeorx would turn to music as a tool to escape his reality and as a relief from its burdens. After falling in love with music at the age of 14, he started composing songs and ever since then, he’s continued to hone his craft and work on his musical style.

His new single, “Island life” is a song about the need to be away, to take time out for oneself for an “island life” of solitude away from the struggles of being. Laeorx also talks about the societal realities of the youths on this track; the lavish lifestyle of the 20’s, the circle of unrequited love, all stemming from the love or focus on money.

is a beautiful all-encompassing and relatable track for the young and for the ones who have experienced what it is to be young, for the ones who also understand the need to be alone.
