The phenomenal, electrifying Kaey and her latest hit single, ‘Another Day, Another Naira’, promises to be a trailblazing hit song, as she brings to the table, a common, relatable human struggle, fusing it into a time-space where we can dance, sing and cry about these burdens. The music is sheer exploration and an expression of daily life struggles, the hardwork, the grind and the unsatisfactory results we get that keep us still longing for  Another day and Another Naira.

“Another day” can be said to signify waking up to a constant life of hard-work, in hopes to be something . ‘Naira’ here serves as our currency and ticket to the better life we continue to chase. Another Naira, is stability, constantly reaching close but never enough. Kaey sings sonorously about that common human wonder, “Shey na suffer we come for?”. She sings for the youth and for the old, for the one’s with dreams yet unexplored, having it fade away in face of realistic hardships. Another day, Another Naira is a sonic cry of frustration, wondering when exactly the hard-work will mean something. More than just a lament though, it is a song of encouragement. It is a light at the end of the tunnel, a reminder that though flawed, we are all in this together. It gets us through, with a strong drive, each day Another Naira.

Kaey, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, well versed in the world of creativity. She is a film school graduate, with a passion tilt towards the microphone. Just as she told the NATIVE, “It’s always the music for me…I’ve Always known since I was young that I wanted to do music. I grew up in a music-inclined family, so there were always different kinds of music coming from everywhere…”. Music is something she has always been surrounded, influenced by and for Kaey, its more than just a profession, but a passion and a lifestyle.
