Hi there favs! Happy New Year. Have you missed us? Because we’ve certainly missed you. It’s a new year and of course, a whole new season of ‘Artistes of the Week’, your favorite stop for the newest releases from various artists. With no doubt in mind, we are here to kick off January with spice, hot like a steaming bowl of pepper soup. So drumrolls, as we kick off 2025 with a bang!

Temkeyz: Home/Decisions

Young  artiste Temkeyz is an upcoming force in the Nigerian music industry. Ready to set himself apart through his style and voracious tenacity as an artiste. He has just released a two-pack EP with two songs called; ‘Home’ and ‘Decisions’. On ‘Decisions’, Attraction and affection collide well as Temkeyz captures the feeling of modern love in this generation, that boldness and sheer confidence to be able to express one's feelings honestly. Acknowledging that love is a two-way street, Temkeyz shares his feelings while waiting earnestly for his lover’s decision. ‘Home’ is an entirely different vibe and energy. On this track, He talks about the nostalgic and comforting feeling of home and he shows that home is not just a mere building, but a place of ease and love, where people strongly believe in you and your gift to the world. Sharing his journey, his lessons gathered along the way, and of course the unwavering realization or truth that home remains a sweet place to be, ‘home sweet home’. Carter Efe x Khaid: Pray

Carter Efe teams up with Khaid for a new Afrobeats track called ‘Pray’. Carterefe, is a Nigerian music artiste, comedian, and content creator. Born on the 29^th of September 1995, in Ughelli, Warri, Delta State, the artist is well known for tearing his shirt in his comedic videos. He began sharing videos on social media in 2018, but it wasn’t until 2020, that he gained a large dominance in the skit -making scene, getting featured in several comedy and dance videos with popular comedians. In July 2022, he alongside the singer-songwriter Berri-Tiga, put out a Wizkid-inspired  single titled ‘Machala’. This track gained him wide recognition into the music industry and even debuted at no. 14 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs Chart. On his new single ‘Pray’, he features young music star, Khaid. Khaid has gradually become a sensation in the Nigerian music scene. He takes the music away with his unique vocals, a perfect complement to the simple, vibey and energetic beat. The song is about negative forces, praying for his downfall as an artiste and his resilience through it all, making it look easy and giving thanks to Jah. Masterkraft: Stray

Sunday Ginikachukwu Nweke, professionally known  as Masterkraft, is a revolutionary Nigerian record producer, disc jockey, band director, pianist, and songwriter. Hestarted his professional music career with Kennis Music and has over the years, worked with a variety of popular acts such as Wizkid, Flavour, Bracket, Banky W, J Martins, Sound Sultan and many more, producing iconic hits back to back.  The mastermind producer was ranked 8^th on the ‘Top 10 Music Producers in Nigeria’ by Leadership Newspaper, in 2014 and 7^th, on a list of ‘Nigeria’s Top 7 Biggest Music Producers at the moment’ by Nigeria Entertainment Today, in 2015. Even after a long time in the game, Masterkraft still stands tall and super relevant today. He has just released his new single ‘Stray’, a lovely Afrobeats track celebrating sweet love and wishing it for it to say. Make sure to check it out!

Qing Madi: Akanchawa

Qing of lover girl anthems, Qing Madi, is back with another sweet love song called; Akanchawa. The young and popping star continues to stun listeners with her effortlessly sweet R&B vocals and her unique Afrobeats/Afropop fusion style. From blown demos to blown up singles and albums, Qing Madi has certainly come a long way and there is no doubt at her vocal prowess and her artistry. Darkoo: Focus on me

Darkoo brings all the sexy girls to the center stage with her bustling new single; ‘Focus on me’.  Sexy pop is so back, as darkoo makes the perfect track to bust a whine to, feel charming and sultry to. ‘Focus on me’ is the kind of music that takes you straight to the club or at least on your way there. With a beat brimming with nostalgia, The song takes you back in time to the 90’s and early 00’s of Nigerian music, to the era of the Nolly babes. Dj Khalipha: Nostalgia Street House

All lovers of Trench tok and creatively done  ‘Mara’ beats and audios, rise, because Dj Khalipha has something for you! Also known as Lawal Habeeb Kola, DJ Khalipha was born on the 23^rd of March 1999, in the bustling city of Lagos, but his roots trace back to Isin LGA, Kwara State, imbuing him with a rich cultural heritage that would later influence his musical journey. Growing up Lagos, he was immersed in the vibrant tapestry of the Nigerian music scene, sparking his passion for rhythm and beats from an early age.  After his education in Kwara, he went to embark on his musical odyssey, eager to carve out his path in the world of EDM. In 2017, he burst into the scene with an innovative vision, introducing the Mara beat--, a groundbreaking fusion of melodic elements and street influences that would revolutionize the EDM Landscape. Constantly mixing, out of the box, lovely sounds together, Dj Khalipha effortlessly stands out and there is simply no limit to his creativity.
