Hello there! Welcome to this week’s “Artistes of the Week”, Today, we bring you (you know the drill), fresh out of the oven releases, and hot new artistes to look out for. Stick around with us, as we explore our favorite artists this week.

Sturm Viral- Viral

Afrobeats artiste Sturm Viral has recently released a fiery two pack EP called “Viral”. Eze Paul, Chibueze, professionally known as Sturm Viral, is a talented singer, songwriter, and Afro-fusion artiste, hailing from Enugu State. With a deeply-rooted passion for music cultivated from a young age, Sturm Viral draws inspiration from various iconic Nigerian musicians such as Oliver De Coque, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Sunny Ade, and many others. The first track on the Ep ‘Kambirir’, is a proper Afro-beat Amapiano groove, filled with high energy and promises of enjoyment, while the second track is a slow-paced high life groove. Very proud of his heritage, the artiste infuses his music with a beautiful mix of his cultural language, making it richly African.

Gabzy x Lekaa beats- Piano

One of the UK’s hottest acts, Gabzy teams up with hit producer Lekaa beats, to make the magic of Piano. From the streets of South East London, emerges singer and songwriter, Gabzy. The young artiste began writing music in his teenage years, as a medium to convey and try to understand his different feelings. From there, he started to conceive music as a professional calling and pursued his passion Lekaa Beats; is a UK-based; Producer, Sound Engineer, and Song-writer. He self-taught himself how to play the piano from the age of 16 which later on led him to produce some of the biggest Afrobeat tracks. The song, Piano is a fusion of soft UK drill music and a bit of Afrobeat, garnered from the duo’s Nigerian background and Afro-beats experience. Check out, Piano.

Deena ade x Luigi anywhere- Better Time

In a beautiful mix of cultures and trading of sounds, Deena Ade and Luigi Anywhere team up to create; Better Time. In this track, the rhythmic sounds of Soweto and the dynamic Nigerian music energy cross paths to get its listners transfixed in a soulful high of Afro-house music. It is a haven of soft African drums and an Amapiano drive promising to take you away to scenes unseen. The beautiful female vocalist, Deena Ade is a fast rising Nigerian musician and songwriter. Her first pivotal moment in music was her starting as a lead singer of a charity group, which resulted in her singing for Nelson Mandela at the age of 8. Deena has a strong passion for music and remains laser-focused on tapping into the movement currently shaping music in Nigeria and beyond. Luigi Anywhere is a 22-year-old South African musician born in KZN, Empangeni, and grew up in Pimville Soweto. He discovered his love for music and performing in primary school. From there, he entered a lot of talent competitions which shaped in him the drive to do music for the rest of his life. Check out their beautiful track together, Better Time.

Diamond Jimma x Bhadboi oml- Trench anthem

Afrobeats artiste teams up with fellow artiste Bhadboi Oml on a new track called, Trench Anthem. Fresh off Diamond Jimma’s New EP “Freshout Jimma Vol, 1 Ep”, The two artistes combine their unique sounds and creativity on Trench anthem, a slow tribute song to the ‘trench’, a localized slang for hood or streets. Abuja based Afro-beats and Trap artiste, Bolaryn, sets off as one of the young talented artistes out of his country. From Diversity to Multitalented, Bolaryn takes his role very seriously in the music scene. He has recently released his two pack Ep; Come by/Voltage. Both tracks are a blend of Trap, Afro-beats, and a bit of an electric pop feel, making it an energetic, fun and thoroughly entertaining fun EP.
