Fido: Awolowo

Pictue of Fido

Awosika Olayemi Josiah, professionally known as ‘Fido’, is a storyteller born in the streets of Matogun, Ogun state. Raised by a single mother, his journey from a small town to the forefront of Afrobeats is marked by inherited relentless resilience and ambition. Relatively new to the music scene, Fido steps into the scene with the confidence and energy of one who belongs, one who has always belonged. Yet, in the least conformist way possible.  In a world where artists are often confined by genre and expectation, Fido comes out as a refreshing exception. His  Debut Single “Awolowo” erupts into the Afrobeats Scene undeniably, channeling the spirit of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s revolutionary Afrobeat and blending it with the vibrant energy of contemporary Afrobeats icons like Kizz Daniel, Olamide, and Burna Boy. For him, “Awolowo” is more than just a song—it’s a heartfelt manifesto. Check out “Awolowo” by Fido!
