YKB ft King Promise: This must be love
Today we begin with artiste, Yusuf Oluwa Gbolaga, professionally known as YKB. YKB is an Afro-pop singer and songwriter, hailing from Ketu, Lagos state. He discovered his passion for music quite early growing up and in 2010, he started uploading his music on Soundcloud.
By the year 2019, he released his debut single, “Swaggu”, kick-starting his professional music career. He was first professionally known as Yusuf Kanbai, before shortening his name to YKB. After that, he was discovered by Mr. Eazi with his program, “Empawa Africa”, a talent-brooding enterprise for young African artists. The lover boy musician, then captured our hearts with his hit single, “San Siro”, gaining a truckload of popularity with the track. The sensational love song was so addictive and was the rave of the moment, that he got Joeboy to hop on the remix as well. Now the artist has released an even sweeter love song, an adorable and groovy track, featuring King Promise, titled “This Must Be Love”, do well to check it out!
O’Teazy: Seriously Teazy (EP)
O’teazy is a young, fast-rising Nigerian singer and songwriter. Formerly a member of the duo, Deuce, O’teazy is now embarking on his solo career. He has recently dropped his debut EP “Seriously Teazy”, an afrobeat and amapiano sensational EP. On the second track, Omokomo, the artiste gives us heavenly chorus vocals matched perfectly with a killer amapiano beat, lacing his transient vocals over the track, coming into a perfect blend, with both energy and transcendence. These transient backing chorus vocals seem to be a particular favorite of the artist, as he weaves them perfectly in nearly all the tracks. On track four, “Teazy Lomo”, the artist introduces himself to us, an expression of his prowess, and the love he has received among other things. Check out artiste, O’Teazy.
13 Lanki: 313 Riddim
13 Lanki also referred to as “Lanki”, is an alternative/Alte Nigerian artiste, rapper, songwriter, and performer, born and raised in the heart of Lagos City. He also belongs to a musical trio called 13BXDMXN, formed in 2020 by a group of friends who decided to transform their group friendship into a resourceful music career. Lanki is a self-acclaimed Afro-swing/fusion Alte rap artiste, who does a unique blend of Alternative rap with other genres like reggaeton, dancehall, and afro beats, creating a balance of eclectic rhythms. He has recently dropped his track called 313 Riddim.
Jaido P: RTL
Jaido P, also known as ShopLa, is a Nigerian singer/rapper who began his music career while in school at Obafemi Awolowo University. In 2019, he released his 7-track debut EP which gained him widespread popularity. He has worked with several celebrities such as Masterkraft and DJ Kaywise. He has released a new rap single titled “RTL”.
Xupafire: Supreme (Ep)
Chukwudi Supreme, known by the stage name Xupafire, hails from the southern parts of Nigeria. He was born and bred in Delta State, Warri. He is an afro rapper, singer, and songwriter who infuses his afro beats with elements of hip-hop and trap. He has recently dropped a new ep called Supreme!
